Ok Moms....I need your help. Madi has been potty trained for several months now. She has never really had accidents and always goes when she needs to. For the last two weeks she has had accidents at least once a day. She will be sitting with us and all of a sudden pee. She was doing it when she was watching TV or playing outside so I thought it was just because she didn't want to miss what was happening. Now she will just do it even when nothing is going on. We don't get mad at her or punish. I would never do anything like that even though it is frustrating. When we ask her why she just tells us she doesn't want to be a big girl anymore. I tell her she will have to wear a diaper and then she says she wants too! I don't know what is going on. Is this a normal toddler thing or did something happen to her? I am really concerned and would love some input on this.
Thanks

i am in NO position to help you on this one. luke is still on the other side of the potty trained bridge... i would guess that this is normal for her though- just dont give up because you know she can do it.
Hey girl, two things:
1. I am going to address your question regarding marriage dependency in an upcoming post (great question!).
2. With potty training, is there anything new going on that would cause her to want to "be a baby" again? Talk about wanting another baby? Anything?
Don't tell her anymore that you are going to put her in diapers. Continue to explain that you are so proud that she is a big girl, and big girls have special priveledges like....(name whatever you do that babies can't do, etc.).
Because she does know how to go potty, explain that it is unacceptable for her to go in her undies. If she is going in her undies in direct disobedience, you do have to punish her - but be very careful that this is the case. Again, really pay attention and talk with her about what's going on in her life (yes, even at her young age). Does she go to daycare? Could someone be mistreating her, etc.
Continue to help her go, pay attention to her movements and take potty breaks. Really encourage her when she goes - YAY - WHAT A BIG GIRL - WOO HOO! We had to do a "poop dance" with our girl for the longest time as an incentive! :)
These are just some thoughts - I know it's tough! Hang in there!
